Ms. Swanger has been an elementary teacher, system reading resource teacher, assistant principal, principal, and area director all in the Douglas County School System. She has served on the United Way Board for 21 years, P.E.T. Board for 3 years, and on the Partner in Education Board for 5 years. This is her second year serving on the CCI Board. She has enjoyed all the different positions. She feels honored to serve the students and parents in Douglas County and looks forward to many more years.
Eric S. Leithner is a dentist with a private practice in the Historic Douglasville area. He employs a staff of 20. He grew up in Douglasville and graduated from Douglas County High School. He attended the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. He has a wife of 28 years, and a son age 16.
Mr. Bonds grew up in North Alabama and has lived in Douglasville for several years. He is the CFO for Southeast Cooler Corporation, a manufacturing company located in Lithia Springs. Mr. Bonds wife is a teacher for the Douglas County School System. Mr. Bonds also serves on the WellStar Regional Health Board.

Sheri Bartlett graduated from Forest Park Senior High. She studied Early Childhood Development at the University of Wisconsin and is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Douglas. She has held many positions in the school system including substitute teacher, ASP Director, Curriculum Secretary and College and Career Secretary. She has also been a dedicated volunteer for Douglas County Schools for over 20 years. Sheri and her husband Jimmy have two children: Jennifer, a 2010 IB graduate of DCHS and Jacob, a 2014 graduate of NMHS and CCI Automotive Program.
Kelli Hornberger is in her second year teaching mathematics at the Douglas County College and Career Institute. This is her third year as a high school math teacher. She grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Millersville University after graduating high school. It is there where she received her Bachelor's degree in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. Upon graduation she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to begin graduate school at the Georgia Institute of Technology to study Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. During her time at Georgia Tech she worked as a teaching assistant and even became a tutor for the Athletic Association where she obtained her love for teaching and inspiring students. Despite having Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Atmospheric Science, her love for mathematics has been instilled since Kelli was in elementary school.
HERMON L. MASON
Born and raised in Petersburg, VA. Graduated from Matoaca, High Class of 1993. Enlisted in US Navy in 1993 served until 1997 as a Radioman Third Class (Honorable Discharge) then joined the US Marine Corps in 1998. Served in the Marine Corps until retirement in 2009 where he worked in Recruiting and Retention and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. In 2009 moved to the Metro Atlanta area and joined Corinthian Colleges as Director of Career Services until 2011. In 2012 joined his current employer COUNTRY Financial where Mr. Mason is the Metro Atlanta South Agency Manager. Mr. Mason is married to Lana Mason and has 4 children. Since moving to the Metro Atlanta area, Mr. Mason has been involved in several community service projects with different organizations such as;

Rita Fasina-Thomas began her long-term career in operations and training as a partner of Pennycook Supermarkets, Inc. She was educated at Rosary Academy and Syracuse University. After completing her education, she worked for the Federal Government in Rome, N.Y. and in Madrid, Spain. Upon returning to the US, Rita began a 25-year career with Burger King Corporation. There, she was recognized for her ability to lead and train teams to achieve exceptional results. After her career with Burger King Corporation, Rita decided to rekindle her passion for being an entrepreneur and founded Distinctive Ops Services, a business consulting company specializing in operations, training, teaching workshops and seminars. Rita is a member of The Atlanta Business League, and is a VIP Woman of the Year Circle member of the National Association of Professional Women. Rita is also a member of Women Speakers Association, and Shapiro International Speakers. Rita is a Douglas County Chamber Diplomat and she serves not only on the board of the College and Career Institute of Douglas County but also The DANNY Center. Mrs. Fasina-Thomas is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Douglas. In 2014, Rita founded The Ademola A. Fasina-Thomas, Jr. Foundation, a non-profit organization, which awards $1500 scholarships to economically disadvantaged, but well deserving youth who have the desire for a University education. In her spare time, Rita likes to spend time with family and she likes to garden.
Paige is the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for West Georgia Technical College where she has worked for 22 years. She is responsible for the five divisional “schools” (Nursing, Health Science, Arts and Sciences, Trade and Technology and Business and Public Services) located on five campuses and two sites within academic affairs. Prior to her current role, she served as Director of Instruction for the Douglas Campus where she managed personnel and scheduled traditional and dual enrolled/Move on When Ready programs and courses. Paige was in this role when the College and Career Institute began and thus has extensive knowledge in this area. She holds a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Administration, Bachelors of Medical Science and several certifications in Radiologic Technology. Paige has lived in Douglas County for 39 years and served as a Diplomat with the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce for seven years prior to accepting her most recent position with the College. She is the proud mom of two daughters currently attending the University of West Georgia and Georgia Southern University.
